Rick Rubin
Director
of the Kent State University
School of Library & Information Science and SLIS Professor. Dr.
Rubin received his Ph.D. in Library and Information Science at the University
of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign in 1987, having previously earned
an M.L.S. at Kent State and a B.A. in Philosophy from Oberlin College. He joined
the School of Library and Information Science at Kent State University in 1988.
He has a distinguished teaching, service and research record and has published
books on Hiring Library Employees and Human Resource Management in
Libraries:
Theory and Practice. Dr. Rubin has published articles in the Journal of
Library
Administration, Library and Information Research, Library Quarterly, The
Encyclopedia
of Library and Information Science, Ohio Libraries and many other journals. He
has done extensive workshops and presentations to the library community throughout
the state of Ohio.
Brian C. Gray
MLIS
Librarian, Engineering, Math, and Statistics, Case Western Reserve University
Kelvin Smith
Library in Cleveland, Ohio. Starting in the spring of 2007, he is teaching this
new workshop, Using Web 2.0 Principles to Become Librarian 2.0, for the
Kent
State University School of Library & Information Science. He is current web
coordinator for the Library
Administration and Management Association of ALA,
has designed several blogs, and authors several other blogs. Online

Russ Crabtree
An
Ohio native, Russ is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in
engineering physics. He worked in research at the Eastman Kodak
company
for three years in the area of optics and electrostatic control systems. Russ
has extensive experience in assisting organizations across the United States
with strategic planning, customer surveys, and training. As the director of Holy
Cow!
Consulting, he specializes in services to libraries. His clients have included
the State Library of Ohio, the Ohio Public Library Information Network, the Kentucky
Regional Library System, the West Virginia Library Association, and numerous
public libraries.
