PERKINS
Jody
Perkins is a graduate of Kent State SLIS and is Metadata Librarian
at Miami University. She has served as co-chair of the ALAO Technical
Services Interest Group and currently serves on the OhioLINK DMSC
DRC Metadata Strategies Task Force, the ALCTS/CCS CETRC Continuing
Education Subcommittee and the ALCTS CRG CCS Continuing Education
Committee. Her articles have appeared in TechKNOW, the Journal of
Internet Cataloging, Against the Grain and Library Resources and
Technical Services. She is a frequent presenter at local, regional
and national conferences.
GEORGE
BARNUM
George Barnum is content system manager in the Office of Innovation and New
Technology of the US Government Prining Office (GPO). He works with the team
creating GPO’s Future Digital System (FDsys), with special emphasis on
metadata issues and digital document preservation. At GPO, Barnum previously
worked as principal writer and editor of “Managing the FDLP Electronic
Collection,” the collection planning document that guides the creation
of the FDLP/EC. Before joining GPO in 1997, Barnum was head of government documents
at the Case Western Reserve University Library, and an adjunct faculty member
in the School of Library and Information Science at Kent State University,
where he received his MLS.
